This guide has been designed by the North Texas Library Partners to aid North Texans in locating help - all types of help.
While this resource is not exhaustive, it is a starting point for assistance.
If dealing with a crisis situation, call 211 for assistance.
211 Texas provides information about child care, housing, transportation and others services.
It is a 24 hour service provided by United Way of Texas.

Rental Assistance: Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs- Search by county or city for local housing assistance.

Disability.gov - Provides easy access to disability-related information and resources such as housing, transitional services and health care.
Easter Seals North Texas - Creating Opportunities that advance the independence of individuals with disabilities and other special needs. Programs include

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) - Applying for benefits online, click here.
The best way to reach Social Security is to call our national toll free number, 1-800-772-1213 (TDD 1-800-325-0778), on business days between 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
The busiest times are Mondays and the first week of each month. Avoid these times if possible.

DARS - Services for Persons with Physical or Mental Disabilities
Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) is a statewide program for families with children, birth to three, with disabilities and developmental delays.
WHEELS - The American Red Cross Chisholm Trail Chapter provides countywide non-emergency medical transportation to the
residents of Tarrant County. You must be age 60 or older, disabled or transportation disadvantaged. Please call
817-336-8714 and a staff member will complete your application over the phone. Hours of operation: 5 am - 5 pm. Two
other programs, NETS and TCTS will provide non-medical transportation for certain cities in Tarrant County. Call
the same number as above for these services.
